Three Cane Whale at the Old Barn
Bristol wordless folk trio, Three Cane Whale, open the 2022 season of performance at the off grid Old Barn, Kelston Roundhill on Saturday 21st May. Performing in the trees and on the threshing room floor, the band will conjure their sound pictures of countryside and country life. Three Cane Whale are Alex Vann (Spiro), Paul Bradley (Scottish Dance Orchestra) and Pete Judge (Get The Blessing). At least fifteen instruments will be played through the course of the evening, allegedly including a bowed psaltery.‘Wonderful’ fRoots‘Impressively original’ The Guardian‘Mesmerising’ Q‘Simply beautiful’ R2Two miles west of Bath along the winding upper Bristol road (A431), the barn is most of the way up the iconic Kelston Roundhill and half a mile from the nearest point of human habitation.
